Do you qualify for $1 a month wireless service?

You are eligible for DigiTel’s LIFELINE Service if you are enrolled in Adult Public Assistance, Food Stamps or similar government programs and are a resident of Anchorage, Juneau, the Mat-Su Valley, Eagle River, Kenai, Soldotna or Fairbanks. This special offer includes FREE Voice Mail, Unlimited Text Messaging, Caller ID, Call Waiting and 3-Way Calling.

Size of Household Lifeline Eligibility Level Documentation of "household" income must be provided in one of the following forms:

  • A previous year's state of federal tax return
  • A current income statement from an employer or paycheck stub
  • A statement of benefits from the U.S. Social Security Admin.
  • A statement of benefits from the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs
  • A retirement or pension statement of benefits
  • An unemployment or worker's compensation statement of benefits
  • A federal or tribal notice of letter of participation in general assistance
  • A divorce decree or child support document
  • Any other official document to substantiate income

“Household” means all persons who occupy a housing unit, regardless of whether they are related to each other.

Q: How does this program work?
A: DigiTel has partnered up with USAC, a government agency, to ensure that low-income consumers have access to quality tele-communications. This means that if you are eligible you can receive DigiTel’s wireless service at a reduced rate of one dollar per month!

Q: Am I Eligible?
A: If your primary residence is in Anchorage, Juneau, Mat-Su Valley, Eagle River, Kenai, Soldotna or Fairbanks and you are a recipient of any one of the programs listed.

Q: How do I sign up?
A: You can stop by one of our locations listed on the back of this brochure. One of our sales staff will take it from there. It’s that easy!

Q: What features do I get with my service?
A: DigiTel includes Voice Mail, Caller ID, Unlimited Text Messaging, Call Waiting and 3-Way Calling with all service plans*.

Q: How many minutes do I get?
A:You will receive network-wide unlimited minutes every month.

Q: Can call long distance?
A: You can either apply to qualify for Long Distance pending an acceptable credit review, or use a calling card.

Q: Can I roam?
A: Roaming outside the DigiTel network is subject to credit approval; some networks allow roaming and in those instances roaming and long distance charges will apply.
